Teejah was incredible to work with from the very first planning call we had with her, through the very end of the wedding day itself. She is so detail-oriented, always keeping us on track and regularly bringing up things we never would have thought of on our own. She also works in a very calm, thoughtful, and careful manner, which we found particularly nice given the otherwise hectic nature of wedding planning. We knew the entire time we were working with her that our wedding was in great hands, and that every last detail was being taken care of. Our wedding day was truly amazing, and we can honestly say the whole thing would never have been possible without our amazing wedding planner, Teejah. She was so kind, helpful, professional, and, most importantly, stayed on top of every detail. Black Orchid Events offers multiple planning/coordinating services, but we opted for their full-service package because we needed LOTS of help in pulling our day together, and it was definitely money well spent! Teejah made us feel like we were her top priority, even though our wedding was scheduled in the thick of wedding season.
I contracted with Teejah 3 months before our wedding. What Teejah provided was invaluable and that was peace of mind. She conducted site visits, we had our planning phone calls and a plethora of emails. I had someone to bounce ideas off of, to brainstorm, ask questions, raise issues and concerns and problem solve to not only fix an issue, but devise something that was better than the original plan.

Yes. Depending upon the level of service you engage our team, some events are automatically included. If you require additional services for your wedding celebration, we can customize a package that includes everything you need.
Do you also plan events around the wedding day such as Bridal Showers, Rehearsal Dinners, Etc.?
Our most requested service is our full planning package which is ideal for the couple who wants to enjoy all the fun aspects of planning a stylish and publish-worthy wedding while avoiding the stress and anxiety that comes along the way. However, you have the final say and nothing happens without your approval.
The venue already has a coordinator. Why do we still need a wedding planner?
This is one of the biggest misconceptions in the wedding industry. Your venue coordinator has a job to do and it's 100% in the venue's interest. Their main objective is to keep you within the terms and conditions of your contract and to ensure you and your guest's exit on time without burning the building down, seriously! Your venue coordinator will not plan your wedding, build you a customized wedding day timeline or provide you with wedding guidance and advice throughout the planning process. As your wedding planner, we are there to serve you and your interest, not the venue.
How much will we be involved in the planning process?
For some couples, a "month of" coordinator is exactly what's needed. The month of coordinator arrives on the day of your wedding to implement everything you've planned. In our experience, this type of package works only when the bride is extremely organized and has an eye for detail and time for planning.
Will the wedding management package "Month of Coordination" be enough?
All couples work directly with Teejah throughout the entire process. Additional planning and production support staff are brought in to participate in various on-site meetings, assist with event setup, and to manage your wedding. The number of staff assigned to your event will depend on the scale and scope of your wedding.
Are we required to book your preferred vendors?
One of the benefits of hiring a full-service planner is your ability to leverage their vast industry experience and knowledge. Our vendor matching process connects couples with professionals who align with their personality, style, and planned investment. Couples who have the best overall planning experience trust our judgment and follow our lead on this. With that said, you are free to book any vendor you choose, but that vendor must be insured!
If we choose to move forward, will we be working directly with Teejah or will we be assigned to another planner?
As soon as possible! Most couples book nine to twelve months out, depending on the time of year and destination of their wedding. A couple looking for a full-service planner should engage a professional before booking a venue or other vendors to have the best possible planning experience.
When should we engage a wedding planner?
We accept debit cards, credit cards, ACH transfers, and wire transfers. We require a retainer to secure your wedding date and weekend exclusively for you. Additional installments are outlined in your official planning agreement.
Do you plan destination weddings?
Yes! We love to travel and create experiences for couples and their guests in locations that are meaningful or unique to them. Please let us know your destination on our inquiry form and we can discuss more details regarding what this type of planning experience would look like for you.
What type of payments do you accept and can we pay in installments?
